Health & Safety Requirements

Student Medical Record and Required Immunizations

To maintain a healthy campus community and comply with Maryland state law, all full-time undergraduate students must complete pre-entrance health requirements. Once you are enrolled in McDaniel College Westminster Campus you will be able to access the Wellness Center through the myMcDaniel portal where you will access forms and more detailed instructions.

You will be required to provide your official immunization record(s) which document the required immunizations listed below.

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 doses, 28 days apart after 12 mo. of age or titers drawn to prove immunity
  • Tetanus and Diphtheria – booster in the last 10 years
  • Meningococcal Serogroups ACWY – At least 1 dose after the 16th birthday. (Note: After reviewing the information regarding the risks associated with the disease and availability and effectiveness of the vaccine, you (or your parent, if you are under age 18) may sign a waiver indicating the choice not to be vaccinated.

NOTE: Official immunization documentation may include immunization record from health care provider, high school immunization record, or international certificate of vaccination (in English).

*All International students are required to have a Tuberculosis blood test (QuantiFeron Gold or T-spot) performed in the 6 months prior to arrival in the U.S. for enrollment in McDaniel College.

 

Student Health Insurance

McDaniel College requires ALL full-time undergraduate students to have health insurance.

  • McDaniel offers students the option of purchasing a comprehensive Student Health Insurance Plan.
  • If you are an American student coming from the Budapest campus who has health insurance coverage and would like to waive the option of purchasing the Student Health Insurance Plan, you must waive the policy no later than July 15th (Fall entry) or February 15th (Spring entry) by completing the waiver found at Wellfleet Student Insurance.
  • If you do not complete the online waiver to provide proof of health insurance coverage by the deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in McDaniel’s Student Health Insurance Plan and the charge will be applied to your tuition account.
