Pearl of the Danube

Buzzing Budapest, often dubbed the “Paris of the East” for its awe-inspiring architecture and atmosphere, is Hungary’s capital and home to around two million people, which is around a fifth of Hungary’s population. It’s the country‘s pulsating heart that never takes a break from its vibrant cultural, political and economic life. The river Danube dramatically separates leafy and hilly Buda from the dynamic plain of Pest. The city’s historical and cultural legacy is alive and well, with around five million visitors pouring in yearly to revel in the city’s plethora attractions that include awesome Habsburg-era architecture, thermal baths that date back to the Turkish-occupation, beautiful bridges and the scintillating Sziget Festival.
