The actress Jada Pinkett Smith and her husband Will Smith were not pleased with Chris Rock’s remarks about Jada during the 2022 Oscars.
“Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it. Alright? That was a nice one,” Chris Rock remarked during the awards event on Sunday, March 27.
Will Smith then stepped up to the platform and slapped Chris Rock, while Jada was seen rolling her eyes on the video. The event, which at first looked like it was planned, forced ABC to mute the live. “Keep my wife’s name out your f—king mouth,” Will Smith said as he returned to his seat. In response, Chris Rock tried to make light of the issue before swearing not to bring it up again.
Later that night, rapper Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, replied to the conflict by requesting that the two fix the issues between them.
”I just want to say let’s make some noise for Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes! Gotta give it up for Wanda. I did not know that this year was going to be the most exciting Oscars ever,” said Diddy on stage. “OK, Will and Chris, we’re going to solve that like family at the Gold Party, OK? But right now, we are moving on with love. Everybody make some noise!”
The subject of the former Saturday Night Live star’s joke was Jada’s shaved head, and it came after the Red Table Talk presenter earlier revealed her alopecia diagnosis. Hair loss is a side effect of the medical condition.
The Maryland native revealed a patch of baldness on her head in a video she shared in January.
“Now at this point, I can only laugh. Y’all know I’ve been struggling with alopecia and just all of a sudden one day, look at this line right here,” Jada said on her Instagram about her condition. “Now this is going to be a little bit more difficult for me to hide, so I thought I’d just share it so y’all not asking any questions — but you know, mama’s going to put some rhinestones in there, and I’m going to make me a little crown,” she said in the video.
Then Jada captioned her post, “Mama’s gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something
