The new club room has opened its door for all the students of McDaniel.
The Student Body Council (SAC) and volunteers have been working on a room that is accessible for people who want to relax or study in between classes. Our Student Body President, Ninoshka Fernandes, said “We wanted to revamp the club room so students have a better space to hang out and we could bring a better sense of community to McDaniel. The painting was a super fun activity that really brought everyone together. I’m thrilled that we now have this comfortable space to relax in on-campus and really hope the room is used to its full potential”. The room has been transformed into a cozy one as it used to be a storage room before. When you go in you can see the colors lighting up the room that forms different shapes, there are ceiling lights made by the design class. There is a piano that people can practice on, a foosball table that you can have matches against your friends on. The weather is not always so nice so it is good to have an indoor space where people can spend time together. Future student projects could be held there and if you have an idea for a club this room is the best to use. There are beanbags and a couch where you can sit relax or just study. This is the first student-initiated room that was created.
The SAC voting already was also held here in person from the 9th of May until the 11th.
To find the room you have to go downstairs to the basement then turn right and when you see the sign club room you know you are at the right place.
In the name of the students of McDaniel, I would like to thank Nino (President in 2021-2022) for coming up with this idea and taking charge of the organization and planning. Moreover, everybody who has taken part in helping make the student club room a reality. Everybody is looking forward to using the room to its full potential in the upcoming semesters.
