Are you feeling stressed from studying, essays, and the pressures of everyday life?  If so, you should check out The Tibet Center, where yoga, pilates, meditation, and other classes are offered to help relieve stress and make you feel renewed.  They provide an escape from a busy day and can give you the strength to keep up with your hectic schedule.  And the best part is…it’s free.

Inside, you will find a small space decorated in Tibetan style with everything you need in order to get through the exercises. This glimpse into Buddhist traditions can help you learn new traditions and beliefs, and may cause you to question your way of life. You can find books on various spiritual subjects, including Indian astrology, yoga and the teachings of the Dalai Lama. Also, there are several souvenirs you can buy to give your home a new, oriental feel.

There are many programs offered such as Indian dance, world yoga, Shambala, among others.  Weather permitting, classes can be in the beautiful park nearby. You can also try Tibetan food twice a week or watch Tibetan movies. New activities are offered every month, where you can participate and broaden your spiritual knowledge.  If you have questions or need guidance, you can always ask the instructors present.

I try to go to the Tibet Center once a week because it helped me relax and focus more on studies. I highly recommend going before or during exam week. After intense studying, all you need is one session of meditation to help you remember the information and obtain the motivation to finish strong.  If you enjoy the programs as much as I do, there is a box for customer donations.

The Tibet Center is on the Buda side of the city.  The address is H – Budapest 1012 Attila út 123, accessible via the red metro (M2) and the Deli palyaudvar stop. From there, it is five minute walk through a park. You can find more information and their full program on their website:  www.tibet.hu.
