McDaniel College Budapest is set to host its first human rights conference on November 21, 2014.
The conference will be held in the Budapest Campus and welcomes various
Human rights topics from different universities around Hungary.
Some of the universities that will be giving a topic in the conference include;
Comenius University Bratislava, the UK’s University of Birmingham and
McDaniel College, Maryland.
Some of the topics to be presented include:
- The Dada Art Movement and the Culture of Immigrant Populations.
- Interculturalism in Visegrad or how would Geert Hofstede sees us through his five dimensions?
- The EU, the Charter of Fundamental Rights, and Immigration.
- Intergenerational integration into the host culture: A Hungarian-America example.
All these topics and much more will be presented and addressed out of concern
for human rights, freedom and liberty. Human right is a very delicate issue that needs to be taken into serious consideration especially by the youths.
Everyone is invited to the event and it promises to be very informative.
An open discussion is also going to be held on November 20 at the Raday Salon. The Raday salon is independent human rights self-oriented program.

10:45 – 11:00: Coffee Break
11:00 – 12:15: Paper Session “Interculturalism, Intergenerational Immigration and Immigrant Populations”.
12:15 – 13:15: Lunch
13:15 – 14:30: Paper Session “The Past and Future of Multiculturalism”
14:30 – 14:45: Coffee Break.
14:45 – 15:45: Student Paper Session “EU and International Law on Migration”
15:55 – 16:40: Expert Panel on Minority and Migrants issues in the Visegrad Countries.
19:00 – 21:00: Reception and Open-mic event.
